Sunshine, Daisies, Butter Mellow…
Sunny days and 90º weather signal the official arrival of summer here in California, and when I stopped by CVS and saw that Sally Hansen’s HD Color collection is on clearance (presumably because it will be discontinued soon!!! D:) I just had to grab this shade, because it’s so frickin pretty!!! (And I already had the other two that were on sale, “Pixel Pretty” teal and “Wavelength” pink… I’ll probably go back and grab the purple one, I think it was Byte? before it’s gone soon… :3 What can I say, I’m an addict!!!)
Sally Hansen’s HD colors are just incredible and oh so fun. I really really wish I had grabbed a bottle of Cyber (the blue-purple, a color I REALLY NEED) when they first came out, and I’ve been looking EVERYWHERE for Opulent Cloud (a violet grey) but I never saw it, it was part of a limited set, and now I guess they’re taking the Hi-Def collection off the shelves. Boo!! Grab some while you can, because these colors are amazing! Anyway, enough about that. On to the manicure!

Sky Manicure and Pedicure
I like clouds, and moons, and stars. And I found this amazing, sparkly ultramarine at the salon when I was getting my pedicure that was just begging to have stars on it. :)

Spring Has Sprung
The weather is getting warmer, days are getting longer, and everywhere, blooming flowers rear their ugly heads to aggravate my allergies and laugh at my plight.
That being said, I like flowers, so I decided to do a decidedly spring-y floral theme this time around. ^_^ I’m getting better and better at nail stamping (or so I think!) And, Jenny - this time I used a light! :)
~~(By the by, do you guys like it if I post more views, or should I keep it simple and stick to one photo?)~~

Dark Magick
Periodically, I ask my boyfriend for a recommendation on a color to paint my nails. He’ll inevitably respond “whatever!” but this time he said “I dunno, purple!” So I painted them purple. :) Unfortunately, my only current shade of purple, while awesomely sparkly, is a little light, and I was feeling quite witchy and gothic…
This wasn’t the first time I’ve mixed colors, but it’s one of my better results. :) In order to achieve the dark, witchy purple I wanted, I layered my shimmery purple with gold and multi-color microsparkles (OPI’s Meet Me On the Star Ferry, from their China collection) over a dark, equally shimmery blue-green with blue, green, and silver microsparkles (OPI’s Cuckoo For This Color - can you tell I love their shimmers?) This is the result of three layers of color - one layer of purple polish, which I let dry, followed by a layer of dark blue-green, again letting it try, and finishing with another layer of purple on top. :) It came out exactly how I wanted, a nice deep, multi-layered and shimmery purple!

Seafoam & Lace.
So I got my nail stamping set up in the mail, and of course I had to try it out. So far I have:
- Konad scraper
- Konad image plate holder
- Konad two-sided rubber stamp
- Black and white Konad special polish
- 21 off-brand image plates
I’m so happy with the results; the Konad system really couldn’t be easier to use. :) It really works just as well as they say. Be prepared for lots more stamping art to come!
The patterns I used were from this Bundle Monster multipack of plates. The French Tip was from BM17 and the all-over pattern form BM20.
Also I want to take this opportunity to say that Seche Vite is a miracle potion from the gods. It is amazing and I am never using any other top coat ever again. That is all.

Muted Colours.
I just got this lovely grey-green colour, and I couldn’t wait to try it out. :) I think it goes perfectly with this soft mauve my mom gave me as a gift a few years back.

Harry Potter Nails.
Ever since I finished re-watching HP8, I had this on my mind. I’m usually terrible at straight lines and geometric designs, so I knew it would be a challenge and a learning curve, but I think it turned out pretty darn well. :)
My thumbnail is at an unfortunate angle for most of these pics (I need to start roping my boyfriend into taking pictures for me) because I just can’t hold my hand at a good angle for long enough to get a good picture. :/ But for the record, it’s quartered and painted in the colours of the Hogwarts crest (clockwise, from top left: red, green, blue, and yellow.) The dividing lines are black with gold glitter overlay.
The rest of my nails are painted like the shields of the four Houses. Index finger, Gryffindor; middle finger, Slytherin; ring finger, Ravenclaw; and pinky, Hufflepuff. :)

Barbie.
My first attempt at true ombre. Lesson learned- use more distinct shades, and always two layers of base color. Next time, I’ll try white on the tips. :)
